Holiday Home York is perfect for families looking to explore historic York or have a base for exploration of Yorkshire.

The house

First floor

• First bedroom: This bright, airy room with a bay window contains a 130cm double bed and a single bed.There is an additional single bed that can be added (please request in advance.)There is plenty of storage space, dressing table, comfortable chair & a TV.
• Second bedroom: This comfortable room contains a 180cm super-king sized bed. There is a large fitted wardrobe, drawers, comfortable chair & clock radio. There is space for an infant cot, (either your own or we can loan you one – please request in advance.)
• Third bedroom: This is the largest bedroom, containing 2 sets of full sized bunk beds suitable for either adults or children. There are two large wardrobes & a clock radio / CD player.
• Bathroom with a powerful shower over the bath, and separate wc.

Ground floor

• Sitting room: in addition to comfy sofas and a period fireplace (now converted to a real flame gas fire,) there is a large TV with DVD player together with toys, games & books for both adults & kids.
• Dining room: opening onto the garden
• Breakfast kitchen: Large and well equipped, this room also opens onto the garden through patio doors. Facilities include fridge freezer, double sink, microwave, oven, grill, hob, kettle, toaster, coffee grinder, together with all the required crockery & cutlery. There is a washing machine.
• Shower room with wc.

Parking and transport

Parking for one small to medium-sized car is available in the driveway whilst further free off-road parking is available at the Burton Stone Inn, located within a three-minute walk.

The house is within a 15-minute walk or a short taxi ride from York station.

The neighbourhood

The house is situated within a pleasant, quiet residential neighbourhood. Local shops include 2 sandwich shops / delis, a coffee shop, 2 pubs, Indian restaurant, greengrocers, butchers, Spar and Sainsbury’s Local supermarket.

There is a riverside park, providing ample space for ball games and providing a relaxing route to walk into the city centre. A second park includes a very popular children's play area.

An alternative route into the city centre is a 10 minute walk along Georgian Bootham. The Minster, Walls, and other tourist attractions are within easy reach, as are York’s vibrant shops, bars & restaurants.

The picturesque Yorkshire coast, Yorkshire Moors & Yorkshire Dales are all less than one hour’s drive away.

Prices

Rates range depending on the dates of stay. Basic prices include up to 8 guests.  Additional guests (except for infants who do not require a bed) are charged GBP15 per person per night.

Generally, midweek breaks are cheaper than weekend stays. For a quote, please use the website or contact us on 01904 655715 or 07545 909 442.  We do generally ask for a minimum stay of three nights, (longer at some points in the year,) and offer discounts for longer stays.

Policies

• We very much hope you enjoy your stay in our home, and will do all we can to make your stay with us pleasant.  At the same time, we expect that the home and neighbours are treated with respect.
• The house in non-smoking throughout.
• Pets are not allowed.
• We ask that guests remove shoes before going upstairs.
• We expect that guests will clean up after themselves in the kitchen and dining room.
• We provide a BBQ for guest use, however the rental we charge does not include cleaning it.  Please either use a disposable BBQ on top or clean it after use.
• If washing up, other kitchen or BBQ cleaning is required, or cleaning in other parts of the house that is in addition to what we normally expect, an extra cleaning charge will be made.
• The house is situated in a residential neighbourhood, and so is not a suitable location for loud parties or noise late at night. In the event of complaints from neighbours, the booking will be terminated immediately and without refund; additional charges may also be levied in such circumstances.
• A GBP200 damage/cleaning/disturbance deposit is payable on arrival, in the form of the swipe of a credit card or cash.
